Multiple Input Switch Monitor ICs
ROHM Semiconductor Multiple Input Switch Monitor ICs are designed to detect the opening and closing of automobile mechanical switches. These ROHM Semiconductor ICs feature Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) protocol for communicating with MCU, serial communication error checking through 8-bit Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC), wetting current timers, and Thermal Shutdown Protection (TSD). The switch inputs have two separate power supplies, VPUA and VPUB, which can either be from a power supply system or a battery source. The Switch Monitor ICs send interrupt signals to the MCU via the SPI when they sense a switch's status change. These ICs consume low power as the switch status is monitored regularly and intermittently. The Switch ICs have an 8V to 26V / 6V to 28V operational voltage range, -a 14V to 40V switch input voltage range and selectable wetting current. These ICs are ideal for use in body control modules.
