Circuit Protection Devices

Bourns manufactures and supplies a wide range of circuit protection technologies, including fuses, PTC thermistors, varistors, GDTs, resettable thermal cut-offs, surge protection devices, hybrid protectors, discrete semiconductor solutions, and more. Reliable surge protection is a critical design consideration to help ensure operational reliability of consumer electronics, industrial/communication equipment, automotive, battery charging, energy storage infrastructure, and renewable energy harvesting ecosystems.

Multifuse® PTC Resettable Fuses

Bourns Multifuse® PTC Resettable Fuses are available in polymer or ceramic with surface-mount, through-hole, or strap-mount configurations. The materials used in these fuses allow them to reset after a fault condition has been removed, and the increase in resistance changes exponentially rather than in a linear manner. Resettable overcurrent protection offers reliability and a longer part life. Bourns Multifuse PTCs provide resettable overcurrent protection, extra-low resistance, and are RoHS compliant. These fuses are ideal circuit protection for a variety of industrial and consumer applications, including computer, battery, automotive, and telecommunications.

MF-GSMF PPTC Resettable Fuses

Bourns MF-GSMF Multifuse® Polymer PTC Resettable Fuses are 3425 (8764 metric) size surface mount resettable fuses. Bourns MF-GSMF PPTC fuses offer high voltage (36VDC) and hold current (3.0A) ratings with initial resistance as low as 0.01Ω. Bourns MF-GSMF uses Bourns freeXpansion™ design for increased performance, including higher hold currents, higher voltages, improved resistance stability, and smaller footprints. This Bourns series is designed for telematics with CAN, Bluetooth®, WLAN, GPS, and UMTS/LTE. Other applications include industrial controls, IEEE ports, and portable consumer electronic I/O port protection.
