The devices protect themselves and are typically used at the edges of the PCB where overvoltage issues are likely to occur.

Analog Devices Switches & Multiplexers offer a comprehensive portfolio of switches and multiplexers covering single to multiple switch elements. These switch elements come with various signal ranges in a variety of packages to best suit application needs. The ADI switches and multiplexers are used in a wide and growing range of applications from industrial and instrumentation to medical, consumer, communications, and automotive systems.

ADG5404 High Voltage Latch-up Proof Multiplexers

Analog Devices ADG5404 High Voltage Latch-up Proof Multiplexers are complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) analog multiplexers with four single channels. ADG5404 Multiplexers are developed using a trench process that guards against latch-up. The P and N channel transistors are separated by a dielectric trench to prevent latch-up even under severe overvoltage conditions. The devices switch one of four inputs to a common output, D, as indicated by the 3-bit binary address lines, A0, A1, and EN. Each switch performs equally well in both directions when on and has an input signal range that extends to the supplies. When in the off condition, signal levels up to the supplies are blocked.
