Microchip Technology MCP16502 High-Performance PMICs

Microchip Technology MCP16502 High-Performance PMICs are optimally integrated PMICs designed for SAMA5DX/SAM9X6 MPUs. These PMICs are compatible with Embedded Micro-Processor Units (EMPUs) that require Dynamic Voltage Scaling (DVS) with the use of High-Performance Mode (HPM). The MCP16502 PMICs integrate two auxiliary LDOs and four DC-DC buck regulators and provide a comprehensive interface to the MPU. These PMICs utilize a 3-state input pin to select the DDR memory voltage (Buck2 output). This method eliminates inaccuracies due to external feedback resistors to allow greater precision in the output voltage setting. The MPU includes an interrupt flag and a 1MHz I2C interface. The MCP16502 PMICs offer thermal shutdown and current limit protection, user-programmable overcurrent fault response, and two 300mA LDOs to support sensitive analog loads. These PMICs feature a low no-load operational quiescent current, drawing less than 10µA in full shutdown. The MCP16502 PMICs are available in a 32-pin 5mm x 5mm VQFN package and operate within the -40°C to +125°C junction temperature range. These PMICs are ideal for use in high-performance MPU power supply solutions and microcontroller/microprocessor, FPGA, and DSP power. The Microchip Technology MCP16502 PMICs are also available in AEC-Q100 qualified variant.
