Intel QuickAssist Technology

Intel QuickAssist Technology is designed to optimize the use and deployment of algorithm accelerators in networking and security applications. As the complexity of networking and security applications continues to grow, systems need more and more computational resources for workloads, including cryptography, data compression, and pattern matching.

QuickAssist makes it easier for developers to integrate built-in accelerators in the user's designs. Developers can use QuickAssist to decrease development time, accelerate performance for demanding applications, support migration to designs using system-on-chip (SOC) and multi-core processors, increase business flexibility with solutions that fit changing business requirements, support small form factor accelerators with system-on-chip (SOC) processors, free up valuable cycles on processors to perform value-added, differentiating functionality, and choose devices and solutions that fit end users' changing business requirements without being tied to a particular accelerator.

QuickAssist provides a uniform means of communication between applications, accelerators, and acceleration technologies. It also helps manage them as resources. This feature simplifies accelerator implementation across platforms and technologies, especially as QuickAssist Technology-enabled offering expands over time.

Intel QuickAssist works in Intelligent Systems with industries such as energy, manufacturing, and chemical production, which are exploring the use of field programmable gate array (FPGA)-based accelerators for computation-intensive algorithms. FPGA accelerators can speed up domain-specific algorithms by implementing these algorithms directly in hardware. Easing accelerator system integration, QuickAssist Acceleration Technology provides a uniform way for applications to communicate with accelerators and manage them as resources.
