Laird Technologies 28x Ferrite Cable Cores

Laird Technologies 28x Ferrite Cable Cores come in four variants: split/snap-on (28A), cylindrical (28B), solid core (28R), and split core (28S). The 28x ferrite cable cores are constructed from ultra-thin mixtures of iron, nickel, and zinc oxides. They are available in cylinder, ribbon, split-flat, and clamp-on shapes. Laird Technologies 28x ferrite cable cores provide excellent differential and common mode EMI suppression on flat cable assemblies.

28A Broadband Split / Snap-On Cores

The 28A Broadband Split / Snap-On Cores are used for retrofit and post-assembly operations. These 28A cores are similar in performance to Laird's one piece core designs that provide excellent common and differential mode EMI suppression on round cable assemblies. The 28A broadband cores come in lightweight inexpensive plastic snap-on cases that provide secure closure of the split cores onto the cable.

28B Broadband Cylindrical Cores

Laird Technologies 28x Ferrite Cable Cores

The 28B Broadband Cylindrical Cores are cylindrical EMI suppression ferrites that reduces common and differential mode EMI. These cores are used to suppress common mode EMI on the internal and external cable assemblies of electronic equipment. The 28B broadband cylindrical cores are also used on power cables that carry digital or analog signals. The in-circuit impedance may be substantially increased by passing 2 turns of the wire conductor through the ferrite core. A typical common mode application might have two conductors passing through a ferrite core.

The 28R Solid Core for Ribbon and Flex Cables are rectangular EMI suppression ferrite cores that reduce common mode EMI on flat or ribbon type cable assemblies. These cables are used to suppress EMI on the internal data cable assemblies of electronic equipment. By reducing the level of interference radiated or received by internal cables, these ferrite cores can reduce the amount of overall shielding required to confine EMI within a product's enclosure.

The lightweight, inexpensive metal or plastic end clips provide secure closure of the ferrite onto the cable.
