Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MPQ2179 Synchronous Step-Down Converters are monolithic and switch-mode converters with built-in internal power MOSFETs. These converters achieve a 3A of peak output current from 2.5V to 5.5V input voltage range with excellent load and line regulation. The MPQ2179 synchronous step-down converters feature 0.6V adjustable output voltage, 65mΩ and 35mΩ internal power MOSFETs switches, and external Soft Start (SS) control. These converters also feature 1% Feedback (FB) accuracy, output Over-Voltage Protection (OVP), and Short-Circuit Protection (SCP) with hiccup mode.The MPQ2179 synchronous step-down converters use Constant-On-Time (COT) with input voltage feed-forward to stabilize the switching frequency across the full input voltage. These converters are available in an ultra-small QFN-8 (1.5mm x 2mm) package. The MPQ2179 synchronous step-down converters are used in the applications such as automotive infotainment, camera modules, key fobs, industrial supplies, automotive telematics, and battery-powdered devices.
