The Arduino Portenta X8 is a high-performance single board computer designed to power the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The board combines the NXP Semiconductors i.MX 8M Mini processor with an embedded Linux OS plus the STMicroelectronics STM32H7 microcontroller to leverage Arduino libraries/skills. Shield and carrier boards are available to extend the functionality of the X8 or alternatively can be used as reference designs to develop custom solutions.

Applications include connected edge computer for manufacturing, autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs), interactive full-HD secure kiosks and digital signage, office and home control systems, navigation and control for smart agriculture, and behavioral analytics for offices and factories.
