Azoteq IQS7221E ProxFusion Sensor, Now at Mouser Electronics, Enables Integrated UI Applications

May 22, 2024 - Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry's leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking the IQS7221E ProxFusion® sensor IC from Azoteq.

The Azoteq IQS7221E ProxFusion sensor is a fusion device with an on-axis orientation designed for rotation and angle sensing applications. This sensor IC includes a ProxFusion channel for integrated UI applications, enabling proximity and touch sensing. Two dedicated quadrature outputs make the product a drop-in replacement for mechanical and optical rotary encoders, and the virtual freewheel UI allows more intuitive scrolling. The IQS7221E sensor IC operates from a 2V to 3.5V voltage range. This sensor IC is available in WLCSP18 (1.62mm x 1.62mm x 0.5mm) and QFN20 (3mm x 3mm x 0.5mm) packages.

Typical applications for the IQS7221E include scroll wheels for computer peripherals, adjustment and control knobs, and motor encoders.
