Mouser-Sponsored Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing Team Heads to Motor City for IMSA Detroit Grand Prix
May 29, 2024 - Mouser Electronics, Inc., the New Product Introduction (NPI) leader™ empowering innovation, is excited to cheer on the Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing team on in the fifth race of the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season at the Detroit Grand Prix, Saturday June 1, in Detroit, MI.
The 1.7-mile, nine-turn racecourse features some of Detroit's most well-traveled roads and some of its most iconic and popular attractions. The Detroit Street Circuit includes a fast and technical track along Jefferson Avenue, Bates Street, Atwater Street, St. Antoine, Franklin Street and Rivard. With elevation changes and a mix of slow and high-speed corners, the circuit promises plenty of action and passing opportunities.
The 2024 season marks the sixth season Lexus and Vasser Sullivan have partnered together. The Detroit race will see the Vasser Sullivan Racing team doubling up in the GTD PRO class, with Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat in the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 and GTD regulars Parker Thompson and Frankie Montecalvo in the No. 15 Lexus RC F GT3. This addition boosts the GTD Pro category to 11 cars, alongside the ten GTP entries that have been competing all season in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
