June 14, 2022Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking the ADIN2111 two-port Ethernet switches from Analog Devices. Expanding upon its robust portfolio of 10BASE-T1L single pair Ethernet solutions, Analog Devices delivers with the ADIN2111 a complete, single-chip solution for 10BASE-T1L line, ring and daisy chain networks. The switches slash power consumption up to 50% and reduce board space by up to 75% compared to discrete implementations. The ADIN2111 switches also add Long Reach Ethernet connectivity to controllers, sensors, and actuators, delivering insights for more efficient and sustainable building management.

The Analog Devices ADIN2111 Ethernet switches, available from Mouser Electronics, feature two integrated physical layer (PHY) cores, a media access control (MAC) interface, SPI, I/O clock buffering, and analog circuitry to provide a flexible solution for network topologies with support up to 1 km between nodes. The four-wire SPI for communication with the host can be configured to OPEN Alliance SPI or generic SPI. Both modes support optional data protection or cyclic redundancy check (CRC). The integrated switch with SPI operates at 10 Mbps full duplex with 16 MAC addresses supported for frame forwarding and an MDIO memory map capability accessible via the SPI.

The ADIN2111 supports line lengths up to 1,700 meters while consuming only 77 mW, and the two PHY cores support 1 V or 2.4 V swing data transfer voltages from 1.8 V to 3.3 V supply voltage. The device can automatically forward traffic between two Ethernet ports without the need for external management.

The ADIN2111 switch is ideally suited for industrial building and factory automation installations, edge sensors and actuators, and condition monitoring and machine connectivity. The device is supported by an evaluation board (EVAL-ADIN2111EBZ), which is also available from Mouser.
