February 14, 2023Mouser Electronics, Inc., the New Product Introduction (NPI) leader empowering innovation, congratulates Jean-Éric Vergne and the DS PENSKE Formula E racing team on an exciting first-place win in round 4 of the 2022-23 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship at the 2023 Hyderabad, India E-Prix. Fellow DS PENSKE driver Stoffel Vandoorne fought hard to advance from position 17 on the grid to finish at position 8, bringing home the team’s first double points of the season.

"An amazing win in India by Jean-Éric Vergne securing the season's first victory. Stoffel Vandoorne also ran a strong race, starting in P17 and fighting his way to finish in P8," said Todd McAtee, Mouser Senior Vice President of Business Development Americas. "We are proud to support the DS PENSKE team, along with our valued partners TTIMolex and KYOCERA AVX, and look forward to more victories in the upcoming weeks."

The outstanding victory marks the first win for the new PENSKE AUTOSPORT and DS Automobiles partnership. After a challenging start to Season 9, the team has been working tirelessly to maximize the Gen 3 car’s potential and fight as hard as possible to be at the front of the grid. Bringing home this well-deserved victory offers the first full glimpse of the power and capabilities of the DS PENSKE E-TENSE car.

Starting from position 2, Vergne drove one of his best races in Formula E to secure his eleventh career win, making his way to the front of the pack by the 15th lap. Thanks to a great strategy from the team, the two-time Formula E champion delivered a masterclass in defensive driving and energy management to fend off fierce competition and lead for over half the race. Taking the checkered flag at the Lumbini Park street circuit, he advances to third in the driver's championship.

Starting from position 17, Vandoorne delivered a sensational comeback to finish in the points. Crossing the line in sixth, the Belgian’s incredible rise through the pack was classified as eighth place, after receiving a 5-second penalty for exceeding track limits.

With this exciting win, the team departs this historic race weekend with the ultimate morale boost and the focus firmly ahead to the inaugural Cape Town E-Prix on February 25. The goal remains to work hard, push the car to the limit and return to the podium.
