October 5, 2022Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, congratulates the Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing team on an exciting, down-to-the-wire, first-place finish in the GTD PRO class at this past weekend’s Motul Petit Le Mans — the final race of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. The victory marks the Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing team’s first endurance race win, leading them to receive the IMSA Endurance Cup for the event at the Road Atlanta raceway.

Drivers Jack Hawksworth, Kyle Kirkwood and Ben Barnicoat piloted the No. 14 car to the team’s second top-spot victory of the season after leading the class for most of the race. Hawksworth fended off aggressive contact from several competitors in the last 30 minutes to snag first place after the No. 62 car was disqualified for a drive-time penalty.

“What a thrilling finish to both the Petit Le Mans and the entire season!” said Todd McAtee, Mouser’s Vice President of Americas Business Development. “Congratulations to Jack, Kyle, Ben and the entire Vasser Sullivan Lexus team on an exciting race and well-executed tenacity. Mouser is proud to have a role in promoting the high-tech and fast-paced performance of the Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing team throughout this successful season.”

Mouser is teaming up with Molex LLC to sponsor both the No. 12 and No. 17 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 GTD Class and the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 GTD PRO Class entries for the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. Team drivers for the season included Townsend Bell, Richard Heistand, Frank Montecalvo and Aaron Telitz in the No. 12 car; Hawksworth, Kirkwood and Barnicoat in the No. 14 car; and Hawksworth and Barnicoat in the No. 17 car.

Mouser previously sponsored the Vasser Sullivan IndyCar team, seeing the opportunity as an inventive way to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies; since then, the Mouser and Molex relationship with Vasser Sullivan has bred success, having won the Indianapolis 500 and producing multiple wins and podiums with Vasser Sullivan IndyCar.

The 2022 season marked the fourth season Lexus and Vasser Sullivan have partnered together. Before this season, the Lexus RC F GT3 had earned seven GTD class wins, 18 podiums and nine pole positions.
