Month 05, 2026Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, is now shipping the new EM8695 5G RedCap module from Sierra Wireless/Semtech. The EM8695 module delivers efficient, cost-effective, and future-proof 5G connectivity for wireless industrial sensors, mid-range IoT, asset tracking, wearables, mid-speed computing, and video surveillance applications.

The EM8695 RedCap module, available from Mouser, is based on Qualcomm's SDX35 baseband processor and offers a streamlined 5G solution for applications that don't require the full speed or complexity of traditional 5G, such as ultrabooks, notebooks, tablet computers, and M2M applications. This FirstNet-ready M.2 module is compliant with 3GPP Release 17 sub-6 GHz and 3GPP Release 16 LTE radio performance, supporting 5G NR bands and 29 LTE bands, and features a USB 2.0 interface with enhanced uplink performance. The EM8695 module features secure boot and secure debug functions to improve device security.

The EM8695 module offers two main interfaces — the host I/O connector and the RF ports. The host I/O connector provides pins for serial communication, power, and control. The three RF connectors enable the use of host-supplied antennas: a main RF connector for the Tx/Rx path, an auxiliary RF connector for diversity, and a GNSS RF connector for dedicated GNSS L1/L5 operation.

The EM8695 module was recently featured in Mouser's New Tech Tuesdays blog article, "5G RedCap: Rightsizing Connectivity for Industrial Gateways and Rugged IoT."
