These feature-rich, space-saving devices are ideal for overcurrent, undervoltage and thermal shutdown protection for air conditioners, air cleaners, pumps and more.

Toshiba’s TPD4163K and TPD4164K 600V Small Intelligent Power Devices for Brushless DC Motor Drives, available from Mouser, get a voltage upgrade from 500V to 600V, increasing reliability for fluctuations in grid/system power supplies.  Both the TPD4163K and TPD4164K deliver high-voltage pulse width modulation (PWM) control, level shift high-side and low-side drivers, insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) outputs, fast-recovery diode’s (FRDs) and protective surge features, with output currents (DC) of 1A (TPD4163K) and 2A (TPD4164K) respectively.

The TPD4163K and TPD4164K are designed for three-shunt resistor circuits and fabricated by a high-voltage silicon-on-insulator (SOI) process, housed in a through-hole type HDIP30 package, which reduces the mounting area by approximately 21% against Toshiba’s previous models to help reduce the overall size of motor drive circuit boards.
