Texas Instruments LP8764-Q1 20A Buck Converters
Texas Instruments LP8764-Q1 20A Buck Converters are designed to meet the current processors' and platforms' power management requirements in various industrial and safety-relevant automotive applications. The device has four step-down DC/DC converter cores configurable for five different phase configurations from one 4-phase output to four 1-phase outputs. The device settings can be changed using an I2C-compatible serial interface or an SPI serial interface. The automatic PFM/PWM (AUTO mode) operation and the automatic phase adding and phase shedding maximize efficiency over a wide output-current range. The Texas Instruments LP8764-Q1 device supports remote differential voltage sensing for multiphase outputs to compensate for the IR drop between the regulator output and the point-of-load (POL). This feature improves the output voltage's accuracy. The switching clock can be forced to PWM mode and the phases are interleaved. The spread-spectrum mode can be enabled and the switching can be synchronized to minimize the disturbances.
