STMicroelectronics ISM330IS & ISN330ISN iNEMO Inertial Modules

STMicroelectronics ISM330IS and ISN330ISN iNEMO Inertial Modules are a system-in-package combining a 3-axis digital accelerometer and a 3-axis digital gyroscope. This integrated solution boosts performance at 0.59mA in high-performance mode and enables always-on low-power features for optimal motion results in industrial and IoT applications. The STMicroelectronics ISM330IS and ISM330ISN iNEMO Inertial Modules offer a full-scale acceleration range of ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g and an angular rate range of ±125dps/±250dps/±500dps/±1000dps/±2000dps. The device embeds an ISPU (intelligent sensor processing unit), an ultra-low-power, high-performance programmable core that can execute signal processing and AI algorithms on edge utilizing the data from the internal accelerometer/gyroscope and up to four external sensors due to the sensor hub functionality.

The ISM330IS can be programmed in C programming and leverages an enhanced ecosystem of libraries (X-CUBE-ISPU) and 3rd party tools/IDE. The ISM330ISN is paired with the NanoEdge.AI Studio, the ST developer tool that allows anyone to easily create Machine Learning libraries, offering a quick and intuitive approach to building anomaly detection applications in sensors. ISM330ISN supports anomaly detection with on-target learning, to be performed directly in the sensor with a significantly reduced power budget. In this scenario, the anomaly detection application will run in the sensors, and once the anomaly is detected, the sensor can wake up the host processor for further intervention.

With the ISM330IS and ISM330ISN, leveraging intelligence in the edge, users can move part of the processing closer to the data acquisition.
The ISM330IS and ISM330ISN are housed in a plastic land grid array (LGA) package and are pin-to-pin compatible with all other STMicroelectronics iNEMO Intertial Modules.
